Job Description

Overview Manage the performance of skilled infrastructure/structured cabling work in the installation, service and maintenance, repair and alteration of low voltage category cabling, fiber optic cabling, communications cabling and other various low voltage cabling systems. Complete physical installations and removal of structured cabling components, cabinets, pathway systems (cable tray), move equipment, racks, and related communications infrastructure materials. 3-6 years plus industry experience with the complete understanding of structured cabling systems consisting of cat 5e, cat 6, and fiber optic cable. Complete understanding of outside plant cabling via aerial/underground conduit systems. Ability to manage multiple (10 or more) projects simultaneously within the estimated budget. Must be US Citizen, and be capable of obtaining Government Security Clearance. Responsibilities: Interface with Client on Planning, Scheduling and Quality reviews. Schedule on-site technicians to perform installs, work orders, projects and de-comms Manage installation and service of low voltage category cabling, fiber optic cabling, communications cabling, communication equipment and other various low voltage related systems such as Category 5, Enhanced Category 5, Category 6, Catagory 6A and Fiber Optic Structured Cable Distribution Systems. Manage upgrades and additions to cabling infrastructure systems in order to increase functionality and usability. Coordinate with other Team Members for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently. Inform operations management regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing necessary information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with OSHA regulations. Project Management of structured cabling projects Communicating with customers and partners Management of Project budgets Purchase order management Coordination of Spearpoint subcontractors Assembling project deliverables Project kickoff and close out calls with customers Qualifications: Must have BICSI Installer or Technician Certification 7 - 10 years’ experience managing the installing, servicing, and maintaining low voltage cable infrastructure systems such as Category 5, Enhanced Category 5, Category 6, Catagory 6A and Fiber Optic Structured Cable Distribution Systems. Proven ability to install, terminate & test low voltage cables & fiber optical cables to include twisted pair cable, coax, power limited tray cable, stranded & solid conductor low voltage cable, single mode & multi-mode fiber optical cables. Industry and manufacturer specific experience and/or certifications preferred (examples: BICSI , Commscope, Corning, Fiber Optic, etc). Comprehension of terminology pertaining to installation & service of cabling infrastructure for telecom, data, security & wireless systems. Relevant industry certifications-Manufacturer/OSHA Microsoft Office proficient-Excel, Word, Outlook Familiar with CAD/VISIO, Adobe Acrobat BICSI Certified Preferred Qualifications: RCDD OSHA 10 course PMP certification Access Control experience CCTV experience
